Webmail Not Working

Quick answer: Webmail is not working when the browser cannot open the mailbox, the password is rejected, or mail will not send or arrive. Check one other mailbox and a normal website first. Then match the symptom: login, inbound mail, outbound mail, a full quota, or spam. Stop when that one path works again.

Is webmail down for you alone?

Webmail fails in one place at a time. Open a second mailbox on the same domain, then open any ordinary website. If the second mailbox works and the website loads, the fault is this login, this browser, or this quota. If every mailbox on the domain fails, check the host status before you reset a password.

Open network status before you change a password. A listed mail outage is not fixed by clearing cookies. If that page is clear and only your mailbox fails, pick the row that matches what you see.

What you seeWhat it usually meansWhat to do next
Login rejected, or a blank webmail pagePassword, a saved browser session, or the webmail addressThe login section
You can send, and nothing new arrivesThe MX record, or a full mailboxThe receive section, then quota
You can read mail, and send failsThe mail app, or the server cannot sendThe send section
New mail bounces, or the screen says quotaThe mailbox is fullThe quota section
Mail arrives in the spam folderSPF, DKIM, DMARC, or a blocked sending addressThe spam section

Use one row. Do not change the password and the DNS zone in the same sitting. A website that loads does not prove the mailbox is healthy.

  1. Ask a colleague to open webmail, or open a second address yourself. Write down whether they get in.
  2. Open network status. If mail is listed as down, wait for that notice to clear before you edit DNS.
  3. Name the symptom from the table. Change only that branch.
  4. You are done when the same action that failed now succeeds.

Why will webmail not log in?

Sign in with the full address, such as name@yourdomain.in, and the mailbox password. The cPanel password and the client-area password are different logins. Caps Lock and a saved wrong password cause most rejections.

After several wrong tries the server can lock the address. Stop guessing. In cPanel open Email Accounts, choose Manage, and set a new mailbox password. Then sign in once in a private window.

Chrome and other browsers keep an old webmail session. If a private window logs in, clear cookies for that host only, then try the normal window. An extension that blocks scripts can leave a blank page. Turn it off for this site and reload.

cPanel webmail on port 2096 can time out while the website still loads. Try https://webmail.yourdomain.in when that hostname exists in DNS. If both addresses time out for every user, email support@webji.services with the error text. The office phone is not the support line.

Roundcube is the webmail screen many cPanel accounts open. A blank Roundcube page after a correct password is still a browser or service fault. If a phone app can open the same mailbox, the password and the server are fine.

  • Use the mailbox password, not the cPanel password.
  • A private window separates a bad cookie from a bad password.
  • A timeout on port 2096 is not the same fault as a wrong password.

Why does webmail send but not receive?

Sending only proves the mailbox can reach its own server. Inbound mail follows the MX record. That value is a hostname, never an IP address. Read it in cPanel under Email Deliverability or Zone Editor, then compare it with a public lookup.

The hostname should be the mail host this account uses, often mail.yourdomain.in, and that name needs an A record. If the lookup and the panel disagree, the internet is still using the old copy or you edited the wrong zone.

A website builder or a CDN change often replaces the zone and drops MX. If the nameservers moved, the old panel is no longer live. Add the row in the zone those nameservers publish. When cPanel holds that zone, add an MX record in cPanel and wait out the old TTL.

A full mailbox can refuse new mail while send still works. Check the quota before you rewrite DNS a second time.

Why does webmail receive but not send?

If webmail can send and only a phone or Outlook cannot, the mailbox is fine and the app is wrong. Use the SMTP host the panel shows, turn authentication on, and use port 587 with STARTTLS or port 465 with SSL. Match the panel, not a guessed port.

Many home and office networks block port 25. That block stops a mail app on the laptop. It does not stop webmail, because webmail sends from the server. What SMTP is covers those ports without a second setup guide here.

If webmail itself cannot send, note the on-screen error or the bounce. A full account disk, a wrong From address, or a held queue fails here even when MX is correct. Leave server firewall ports to the host. Email support@webji.services rather than opening ports you do not administer.

What if the mailbox is full?

A mailbox at its quota stops accepting new mail. Webmail may also refuse a draft or a sent copy. In cPanel, Email Accounts shows disk used against the limit. Delete mail on the server, including Sent and Trash. A phone can hide messages the server still stores.

Raising the quota on that Manage screen is the other fix when the plan allows a larger box. Then send a new message from an address outside the domain. When it arrives, the quota block is gone. Do not delete the mailbox just to clear space.

Why does sent mail land in spam?

The mailbox is working if the message arrives in spam. Receivers check SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. In cPanel, Email Deliverability shows whether those TXT records are valid. Repair the ones it marks broken, in the live DNS zone, and send a fresh test.

An old broken record can keep failing until its TTL ends. If those checks are valid and mail is still refused, the sending address may be on a block list. That is separate from a login failure. Email support@webji.services with one full header. Do not put the mailbox password in that mail.

  • Spam means the message was delivered.
  • SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are TXT records in the live zone.
  • A block list is the next check only after those records pass.

When should you email WebJi® support?

Email support@webji.services when the matching branch still fails. Support replies 24/7 in Hindi and English, and the average first reply is under 60 minutes. The office phone is not the line for a mail fault. Include the address, the exact error, the time, and the steps that already passed.

Say whether a second mailbox on the domain works. That splits one account from a server fault. A mailbox hosted here is part of business email hosting. A new mailbox is quoted by email before you pay. Moving old mail is free only after terms and approval, and that move does not repair today's login.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is webmail not working?

Webmail is not working when this browser cannot open the mailbox, the password is rejected, or mail will not send or arrive. Test a second mailbox and a normal website first. Then follow the branch for login, inbound mail, outbound mail, quota, or spam.

Is there a problem with webmail today?

Check network status and a second mailbox on the same domain. If both fail and the status page lists mail as down, wait for that notice to clear. If only your address fails, today's outage list is not the cause.

Why can't I log into my webmail?

Use the full email address and the mailbox password, not the cPanel or client-area password. Try a private window. If port 2096 times out, open https://webmail.yourdomain.in when that name exists. If every user still cannot connect, email support@webji.services.

Are mail servers down right now?

Open the host status page and see whether mail is listed as down. A colleague who can open webmail means the servers are up for that domain. If every mailbox fails and status shows nothing, email support@webji.services with the time and the error.

Why is my webmail not receiving emails?

Inbound mail follows the MX hostname in the live DNS zone. Compare cPanel with a public lookup, and check that the mailbox is not over quota. A message you just sent does not prove the MX record is correct.

How do I reset a cPanel webmail password?

In cPanel open Email Accounts, choose Manage on that address, and set a new password. Sign in once in a private window. Stop typing the old password after the server locks the address.
