What Is a Business Email Address?

A business email address uses your own domain after the @ sign, such as name@yourbrand.com, instead of a free Gmail or Yahoo inbox. It shows the message comes from a domain you control. You still need a mailbox host and MX records so other mail servers know where to deliver it.

Festive Diwali scene with marigold garlands, gift boxes, diyas and a laptop with a shopping cart — what is a business email address

A business email address uses your own domain after the @ sign, such as name@yourbrand.com, instead of a free Gmail or Yahoo inbox. It shows the message comes from a domain you control. You still need a mailbox host and MX records so other mail servers know where to deliver it.

What the address is made of

The part before the @ sign is the mailbox: a person, or a role such as billing. The part after the @ sign is a domain your company registered. name@gmail.com fails that test because gmail.com is not your domain. name@yourbrand.com passes it when you control yourbrand.com.

  • Person: rajesh@yourbrand.com
  • Role: billing@yourbrand.com
  • A free inbox on a public domain is a different kind of address.

An alias is a second name on the same mailbox

An alias is another address that delivers into a mailbox you already have. sales@yourbrand.com can land in rajesh@yourbrand.com. You did not create a second inbox. You added a name. The alias still has to live on your domain.

How the address starts working

  1. Register the domain.
  2. Buy a mailbox plan on that domain.
  3. Publish MX records so other servers know which host accepts the mail.
  4. Send a message to an outside inbox and reply to it.

The setup steps are on the business email setup guide. SPF and DKIM come after MX, so receivers can see the mail really left your domain.

What this site publishes for the mailbox

research/site_components/pricing_real.json, read 30 October 2026, lists 5 mailboxes of 5 GB at ₹2,520 a year. That figure is before 18% GST. A larger mailbox row is on the same file. Business email hosting is the service. The WebJi homepage lists it beside domains. support@webji.services answers 24/7 in Hindi and English.
