Choose Cloudflare or Bunny in one line

Choose Cloudflare if you want DNS, a web application firewall and DDoS filtering on one bill, with a free plan and Pro at $20/month billed annually. Choose Bunny if your traffic is mostly images and video, priced at $0.03/GB for Asia with a $1 monthly minimum. WebJi is neither company.

  • Cloudflare: a per-zone plan, an HTML-aware proxy, and a WAF on every plan.
  • Bunny: a pay-per-GB pull CDN, strongest on static assets and video, with no free tier.
  • Both: cache at the edge, and both sell image processing as an extra.

What each one actually is

Cloudflare is a reverse proxy. You change your domain's nameservers to Cloudflare, it answers for your site, and every request passes its edge before reaching your hosting account. That position lets it cache HTML, filter attacks and serve DNS from one dashboard.

Bunny is a pull-zone CDN. You create a zone pointed at your origin, add a CNAME such as cdn.example.com, and rewrite asset URLs to that hostname. Your DNS stays where it is, and the zone caches files rather than the HTML page.

That difference explains the price shapes. Cloudflare charges per zone because it sits in front of the whole site. Bunny charges per gigabyte because it bills the bytes it delivers.

A worked example at one terabyte a month

Indian traffic sits in Bunny's Asia and Oceania band at $0.03/GB. Do the arithmetic before choosing a brand.

Traffic a monthBunny, Asia rateCloudflare ProCloudflare Free
300 GBAbout $9$20$0
1 TBAbout $30$20$0
3 TBAbout $90$20$0

Bunny and Pro cross at roughly 650 GB, which is 20 divided by 0.03. Below that, Pro costs more than the bandwidth; above it, the per-GB bill overtakes the flat plan. The free plan stays at $0 but excludes the paid rulesets, and large video or file delivery is outside what a free proxy is built to carry.

SetupNameserver changeCNAME to a pull zone

No number is borrowed from a review site to fill a gap. If a vendor did not publish it, this table does not guess.

Setup: nameservers or a CNAME

Cloudflare takes over DNS. Add the domain in its dashboard, check the imported records against your host's list, then replace the nameservers at your registrar with the two it assigns. You know it worked when the zone shows as active and the site loads through the proxy.

  1. Add the site to Cloudflare and compare the imported DNS records with the ones your host gave you.
  2. Set the main A record to the hosting IP address and switch the proxy on.
  3. Change the nameservers at the registrar and wait for propagation.
  4. Reload the site and confirm the response headers name Cloudflare.

Bunny leaves DNS alone. Create a pull zone with your origin hostname, add a CNAME record for the CDN hostname, and point your asset URLs at it. You know it worked when an image loads from the CDN hostname and the zone's traffic graph counts it.

Where each one is the wrong buy

Cloudflare's free plan is the wrong buy for a video library or a large download site. A free proxy is built for web pages, and heavy non-HTML delivery is not what it is for. Paid plans are also per zone, so twenty small domains cost twenty times one.

Bunny is the wrong buy if you need a WAF included on day one, or if the traffic is small enough that a $1 minimum and a second dashboard are not worth the effort. At 50 GB a month the bill is $1.50, and Cloudflare Free does that job for nothing.

Both are the wrong buy if the origin is slow. Neither CDN fixes a server that takes two seconds to answer a cache miss, which is why the origin comes first and the CDN second.

WebJi is not either brand

WebJi® hosts the origin server these CDNs sit in front of. It is not Cloudflare, not bunny.net, and resells neither. Cloud hosting starts at ₹5,900/month for 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM and 100 GB storage, before 18% GST, quoted by email before payment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Bunny cheaper than Cloudflare?

Only above roughly 650 GB a month of Indian traffic. Bunny bills $0.03/GB there, so 300 GB costs about $9 against Pro at $20, while 1 TB costs about $30. Cloudflare Free is $0 at any volume, with fewer paid rules.

Does Cloudflare have a free plan?

Yes, $0/month with CDN, DNS, SSL and unmetered DDoS filtering. Pro is $20/month billed annually or $25 monthly, and Business is $200/month billed annually.

How does Bunny pricing work?

Per gigabyte delivered, by region, with a $1 monthly minimum and no request fees. Asia and Oceania is $0.03/GB; Europe and North America is $0.01/GB on the standard network.

Can I use both together?

Yes. Keep Cloudflare as the proxy and DNS for HTML pages, and put a Bunny pull zone in front of the uploads folder through a CNAME. Two dashboards, two bills, one origin server.

Do both have servers in India?

Cloudflare states 330+ cities and Bunny states 119 points of presence on its standard network; neither pricing page lists Indian cities individually. Test latency from your own city before you commit.

Is WebJi one of these companies?

No. WebJi hosts the origin server in India and resells neither CDN. Cloud hosting is ₹5,900/month before 18% GST, quoted by email before payment.
