A static site is files the browser can render without a database: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and images. On WebJi® those files go on Linux shared hosting with cPanel. You upload them in File Manager or by FTP. PHP and MySQL are on the same account if you later add a form that needs them.

When is shared hosting the wrong place for a static site?
Stay on L-Basic for a brochure, a documentation set, or a small JavaScript front end. Move to a VPS when you need root access, your own nginx build, or a build pipeline the shared image will not run. That VPS is quoted. It is not L-Basic.
There is no free static site hosting plan. A free tier on another platform is a different limit and a different renewal.
Can you host a Hugo, Jekyll, or Astro build?
Yes. Hugo, Jekyll, and Astro output plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and that output uploads to L-Basic like any static file. Platforms such as GitHub Pages or Netlify host static output free with their own limits, like a required public repo or their deploy process. That is a different platform, not a WebJi® free plan, and this site still has no free static tier.
How do you publish a static site on L-Basic?
- Order L-Basic and point the domain at the account.
- Open cPanel File Manager and upload the site into the public folder named in the welcome mail.
- Turn on the free SSL that comes with hosting, then load the domain over HTTPS.
If the upload path is unclear, email support@webji.services with the domain. Do not guess a port.
