A WebJi® Laravel account is a cPanel plan with the PHP version you select, cron for the scheduler and the document root set to /public, so index.php serves the app instead of the project folder. SSH, Composer and supervised queue workers are not part of shared cPanel; those apps belong on a VPS. Prices are quoted in INR by email before you pay.
Laravel Hosting India — What You Get
A WebJi® Laravel account is a cPanel plan with a PHP version you select for the domain, the document root set to /public, cron for the scheduler, free SSL and NVMe storage. The panel manages the domain, mail and database; the application lives in your own account space.
- A PHP version selectable per domain in cPanel, with OPcache enabled (Laravel 11 and 12 need 8.2 or newer).
- A MySQL or MariaDB database created in cPanel and reachable from phpMyAdmin.
- One cron entry per minute for schedule:run.
- Free SSL, so APP_URL can be set to https:// from the first deploy.
- LiteSpeed in front of PHP, so cached pages skip the framework entirely.
Three things are not on shared cPanel here: SSH, Composer on the server and a process supervisor. If the app needs any of them, the VPS range is the correct plan, and this page treats that as a technical decision rather than an upsell.
Laravel PHP, Composer and Extension Requirements
Laravel 11 and 12 require PHP 8.2 or newer, and Laravel 10 needs PHP 8.1. Composer 2 fetches the framework and packages, and the framework expects the ctype, cURL, DOM, fileinfo, mbstring, OpenSSL, PDO, tokenizer and XML extensions, all standard in a cPanel PHP build.
Node is a build-time dependency only. Compile CSS and JS with Vite on your machine, upload the built assets, and the server never runs npm. That is why a shared plan can host a modern Laravel front end without Node installed.
Pointing the Laravel Document Root at /public
Laravel serves every request through index.php inside /public. Point the domain's document root there, not at the project folder, or .env, storage logs and vendor become downloadable. In cPanel, open Domains, choose the domain and set Document Root; on a VPS, set the root directive in the Nginx or Apache virtual host.
Keep the project one level above the web root where the plan allows it, so .env, storage and vendor sit outside public_html. The storage symlink (php artisan storage:link) is created from the project root, which needs SSH or a local build that is then uploaded.
Laravel Queues, Cron and the Scheduler
The scheduler is one cron entry, php artisan schedule:run, fired every minute; the timetable itself stays in the application code. That entry works on shared cPanel and on a VPS, and it is the piece most often missing after a migration.
Queue workers are where the plans diverge. Shared hosting can start queue:work from cron, but each run ends at the timeout and nothing restarts a crashed worker. A VPS runs Supervisor with autorestart, so workers return after a deploy or a fatal error; Horizon needs that same supervisor plus Redis.
Deploying a Laravel App to WebJi® Hosting
Build locally with composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader, upload the project with vendor included, create .env on the server and generate APP_KEY before the first request. Then set the document root to /public and confirm the site answers over https.
Migrations need artisan and a database connection. Without SSH, run php artisan migrate from your machine against the remote database if the plan permits remote MySQL, or build the schema locally, import it through phpMyAdmin and deploy the code afterwards. Config and route caching are best left to a VPS, where you can run them on every release.
Shared cPanel or VPS for Laravel
Both run the same Laravel code; they differ in what can run beside it. The table shows which tools exist on each plan before you commit.
| Tool | Shared cPanel | VPS |
|---|---|---|
| SSH and Composer | No | Yes |
| Artisan on the server | No | Yes |
| Queue workers | queue:work restarted by cron | Supervisor, always running |
| Redis | No | Yes |
| Websockets | Hosted service only | Reverb or Soketi on the box |
| Scheduler | Cron | Cron |
| Document root | Set in cPanel | Set in the virtual host |
Plan sizing and price are quoted in INR by email before payment; no figure is published on this page.
Who Laravel Hosting on WebJi® Fits
It fits freelance developers, small agencies and product teams shipping Laravel sites, admin panels and APIs that answer requests and queue little or nothing in the background. It also fits teams that want an INR invoice and a server in India without running their own infrastructure.
It does not fit queue-heavy SaaS products, apps that need Horizon or Redis, or anything requiring root. Those belong on the VPS, and the shared cPanel details are on the cPanel hosting page.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which PHP version should Laravel use?
Laravel 11 and 12 need PHP 8.2 or newer, and Laravel 10 runs on PHP 8.1. Choose the highest version your packages support in cPanel, with OPcache on, and check composer.json before you move a project.
Can I host Laravel on shared cPanel?
Yes, if the app has no SSH or queue requirement: upload a build with vendor included, point the domain at /public, create the database and add the scheduler cron. Composer and Artisan do not run on shared cPanel here.
Does Laravel need a VPS?
Only when the app needs Composer on the server, Artisan commands, Redis or workers that must stay alive. A site that renders pages and writes to MySQL runs on shared cPanel.
How do I deploy Laravel without SSH?
Run composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader locally, upload the project and vendor folder, set .env and APP_KEY, then set the document root to /public. Import the database through phpMyAdmin before the first request.
How do I run Laravel queues and the scheduler?
Add one cron entry per minute for php artisan schedule:run, and a second entry for queue:work if the queue is small. Workers run only as long as the cron job allows; a VPS with Supervisor keeps them alive.
Where does the Laravel document root go?
At /public inside the project, never the project root. cPanel sets it per domain under Domains, and a VPS sets it in the Nginx or Apache virtual host, with .env one level above.
How much does Laravel hosting in India cost?
The plan and sizing are quoted in INR by email before payment, with 18% GST added on the invoice. Send the PHP version, database size and whether you need queues, and the desk prices the correct plan; published list prices are on the pricing page.
Can you migrate an existing Laravel app?
Yes, subject to terms and approval. We copy the files, uploads and database, then you confirm .env, document root and cron on the new server before DNS changes.
