What to compare before you switch
Compare alternatives on four things: wholesale pricing shape, the API, the WHMCS module and TLD coverage. Openprovider lists over 1,900 TLDs on a membership model, MilesWeb bundles domains with hosting, and WebJi® sells reseller hosting separately. None of them is ResellerClub, and this page publishes no competitor support contacts.
The sticker price is the least useful column. Four criteria decide whether a switch saves money or costs a week of support.
| Criterion | What good looks like | Ask before you sign |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing shape | One model you can forecast at renewal | Is the price per domain or per plan, and what changes at renewal? |
| API | Documented endpoints with a test account | Can I register, renew and transfer in a sandbox? |
| WHMCS module | A maintained module that syncs TLD prices | Who updates it when a registry changes a price? |
| TLD coverage | The extensions your clients actually buy | Can you register .in, .co.in and the niche TLD on my list? |
Pricing shape: slabs, memberships and bundles
ResellerClub uses slab pricing: your per-domain cost drops as volume rises. It rewards growth, but next quarter's cost depends on a tier you can fall out of after churn.
Openprovider sells a membership. It fixes the annual cost and removes per-domain markup, which suits a portfolio with steady renewals and costs more than slabs at very low volume.
MilesWeb and most hosting brands bundle a domain into a hosting plan. That is simple for one client and impossible to compare across providers, because the domain price is inside the hosting price.
Whichever you pick, compare the renewal price. A first-year promo is a discount; the renewal is what your client pays every year after it.
API and the WHMCS module
If you sell domains from your own site, the API is the product. Test five calls in a sandbox before you sign: availability check, registration, renewal, contact update and transfer.
Then test the failure paths. A taken domain, a premium domain, an invalid auth code and an insufficient balance should each return an error your WHMCS can display. A module that fails silently creates tickets you cannot answer.
ResellerClub's HTTP API and WHMCS registrar module are why many Indian hosting brands started there. An alternative has to match that integration before a migration is worth the effort.
TLD coverage for Indian clients
Count the extensions your clients buy, not the provider's total.
- .in and .co.in: local trust, and registry rules that differ from global extensions.
- .com: the default for export customers, with stable renewals.
- .shop, .store and .online: cheap first year, higher renewal.
- Niche country codes: confirm whether the provider is accredited or resells through a partner.
Openprovider states coverage of more than 1,900 TLDs on the page read 29 October 2026. ResellerClub carries a broad catalogue across domains and hosting. Verify the exact extension in each provider's own search before you move a client.
Moving a portfolio without downtime
- Export every domain with expiry date, registrar lock status and current nameservers into one sheet.
- Unlock the domains and collect auth codes in batches of 20–50; most panels issue them on screen.
- Leave DNS where it is. A registrar transfer does not require a nameserver change, and moving both at once is how sites go down.
- Transfer well before expiry. A .com move usually takes five to seven days, and a domain inside 60 days of registration or a recent transfer can be refused.
- Confirm renewal dates after each batch. Some extensions add a year on transfer, others do not.
- Keep the old account open until the last batch resolves and every site answers.
Never cancel the source account on transfer day. Renewal reminders go to the losing registrar until the move completes, and a lapsed domain is the expensive mistake in this project.
What WebJi sells, and what it does not
WebJi® is a hosting company, not a domain-reseller platform. We do not run a white-label domain API or a WHMCS registrar module, and we are not ResellerClub. Domains are sold at checkout with domain registration when you host with us.
What we do sell is reseller hosting: LR-START at ₹4,000 a year, LR-Pro at ₹7,000 and LR-Dev at ₹12,500, before 18% GST. Each plan gives WHM, a cPanel account allocation and white-label nameservers, and the price list shows the full set.
That suits an agency that buys domains from a registrar and hosts the sites on cPanel. It does not suit a business that wants to sell domains from its own storefront through an API.
Deciding in one afternoon
- List the five TLDs you sold most last quarter and the renewal price you pay now.
- Ask two providers for a sandbox key and their renewal price for those five.
- Run the five API calls, including one failure case.
- Price the switch: transfer fees, staff hours and any domain you cannot move.
- Move the lowest-risk batch first, with DNS untouched.
A switch that saves ₹40 a domain but costs two support days is not a saving. Count the hours before the rupees.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is WebJi a ResellerClub alternative?
For hosting, yes: WebJi® sells cPanel reseller plans from ₹4,000 a year before 18% GST. For domains, no: we are not a domain-reseller platform, we do not offer a white-label domain API, and we are not ResellerClub. Domains are sold at checkout when you host with us.
Which alternative has the widest TLD coverage?
Openprovider states more than 1,900 TLDs on the page read 29 October 2026, which is the widest claim among the results checked here. ResellerClub also carries a broad catalogue across domains and hosting. Check the exact extension you sell in each provider's search before moving a client.
Do I need to move DNS when I switch registrars?
No. A registrar transfer can leave the nameservers unchanged, so websites and email keep resolving while the domain moves. Change DNS as a separate project after the transfer completes, never in the same window, or a mistake becomes impossible to isolate.
How long does a domain transfer take?
A .com transfer usually completes in five to seven days once the auth code is accepted. Country extensions vary, and a domain inside 60 days of registration or a recent transfer can be refused. Start well before expiry, because a transfer does not pause the renewal clock.
Does ResellerClub publish its wholesale prices?
Not in public search results; the rates that apply to you sit inside a reseller account. This page therefore quotes no ResellerClub price. Export your own buy price and renewal from the account, then compare those against the alternative's quote for the same TLD.
Can I keep WHMCS after switching?
Yes, if the new provider ships a maintained WHMCS registrar module. Test availability, registration, renewal, contact update and transfer in a sandbox, plus one failure case, before moving a live domain. A module that fails silently costs more than the price difference.
