You migrate WordPress from Hostinger by exporting the files and the database from hPanel while that plan is still paid, restoring the copy, and changing DNS only after it loads. The domain registration can stay where it is. WebJi® is not Hostinger.
What do you copy before you cancel Hostinger?
WebJi® wrote this checklist. WebJi® is not Hostinger, and this is not their support desk. Their phone numbers and support addresses are not listed here.
Copy the site while the account is still paid. A public Hostinger transfer tutorial, read on 29 October 2026, separates a WordPress source from a cPanel source. hPanel is their panel. A cPanel full-account backup is not the file you download here.
Their shared product and their WordPress product both store the site as files plus a database. The name on the invoice does not change the export or the DNS step. To leave, put that copy on a host that can run WordPress, including WordPress hosting at WebJi®.
A WordPress archive does not include the mailbox or the DNS records. Write those down before you change anything. Guides that move a site onto Hostinger, rename the domain, or import Blogger are a different job.
| Piece | What you do | Done when |
|---|---|---|
| Site files | Download them from hPanel while the plan is paid | The archive has wp-content, not an empty folder |
| Database | Export it beside the files, not inside them | The temporary address shows your posts |
| Mailboxes | Copy them with IMAP before MX changes | A test message sends and a reply arrives |
| Domain registration | Leave it, unless you want a new registrar | The same name still resolves after the DNS edit |
| Certificate | Issue a new one on the new host | The address you test shows a lock |
Where is WordPress inside the Hostinger account?
While the plan is paid, WordPress is the live site. You open it in wp-admin on the current domain. The files sit in the site root, and the posts sit in one database. That pair is the copy.
Do not hunt for a cPanel Backup Wizard on this account. If the dashboard has no cPanel label, you are in hPanel. The same tutorial shows file backups and database backups as two downloads. Take both, or pack that pair with a plugin from wp-admin.
Keep the copy private. Do not email the database file, and do not put the hPanel password in a public note. The certificate visitors see today stays on Hostinger until DNS moves. The new host issues its own.
How do you move WordPress from hPanel to cPanel?
Do these steps in order, and stop if a check fails. The new account should be empty before you import.
- Write down the current nameservers and the A, MX, and TXT records. Lower the TTL a day ahead if the DNS host allows it.
- Download the site files and export the database from hPanel, or build a plugin package in wp-admin, while Hostinger still serves the live site.
- On the new host, create an empty database, upload the files, and import the database. Put the new database name, user, and password in wp-config.php. Those screens are in cPanel when the new host uses cPanel hosting, not in hPanel.
- Open the copy on a temporary hostname. Click the home page, one inner page, a form, and the wp-admin login.
- If people post or pay during the copy, export the database again immediately before DNS, or pause new writes. A site you only edit yourself does not need the second export.
- Point the A record at the new host, or switch to the nameservers that host gave you. Changing nameservers is the same job at any registrar.
- When the public name answers, repeat the page checks. If one fails, put the DNS values from the first step back.
If the temporary name was saved in the database, set the real site address in wp-admin once the domain reaches the new host. Use a replace that keeps serialised data intact. A plain text replace of the SQL file can break menus and widgets.
Changing the domain name at the same time is a different job. This checklist keeps the same domain and only changes the host.
How do you keep mail and the certificate?
A migration plugin copies WordPress files and the database. It does not move the inbox. Create the same addresses on the new host and copy the mail with an IMAP program while Hostinger is still up.
Leave MX on the old host until a message from outside arrives and a reply goes back. The website A record and MX are two edits. You can change them on different days.
Issue SSL on the new host before you call the test finished. The lock visitors had on Hostinger does not travel with the files. You know it worked when the address you test shows a lock.
When can you cancel the Hostinger plan?
Cancel only after the new host has served the site and the mail for a few days. Cancelling on the same day as the DNS change leaves no way back if a page or a mailbox was missed.
If you cancel before the copy is tested, the live site and the files you still need can go offline together. Keep the account paid through the checks above.
Can WebJi move the site?
Yes, if you want that, and only after terms are approved. It is not instant, and it is not automatic on every order. The migration service is the request. Email support@webji.services in Hindi or English. The average first reply is under 60 minutes.
Do not call the office number for the move. The steps above work for any host that can take the files and the database. A hosting plan is a separate bill, priced before 18% GST. The rupee amounts are not repeated here, and there is no claim of a lower price than Hostinger.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is hPanel the same as cPanel?
No. hPanel is Hostinger's panel. A cPanel full-account backup is not the export this move starts from. Their transfer guide, read on 29 October 2026, treats WordPress and cPanel as different source types.
Does shared hosting versus WordPress hosting change the copy?
No. On Hostinger, both products still store WordPress as files and a database. The product name does not replace the download, the import, or the DNS change.
Does a migration plugin move email?
No. The plugin copies WordPress files and the database. Copy mail with an IMAP program, and change MX only after a test message works on the new host.
Will the site go blank when I change DNS?
Visitors move as the old TTL expires. Keep the Hostinger account up through that window. Test the new copy on a temporary address first so the first public view is not the first test.
What if the links still show a temporary address?
The site address is stored in the database. Set it in wp-admin after the real domain reaches the new host, or use a replace that keeps serialised data intact. Do not run a plain text replace on the SQL file.
Can I cancel Hostinger the same day?
Not safely. Wait until the new host has served the pages and the mail for a few days. Cancelling before the copy is tested can take the live files offline.
