The short verdict
Choose Kinsta if your traffic is global, your team already pays in USD, and you want per-site isolation, staging, and application monitoring in one managed product. Choose a WebJi WordPress plan if you bill in rupees, need a GST invoice, write to support in Hindi, and want a fixed monthly price you can predict.
Those are different products for different buyers, and neither is a downgrade of the other. What follows is the comparison a buyer in India actually needs: what Kinsta includes, what changes when you move, and where a shared WordPress plan stops being enough.
What Kinsta actually sells
Kinsta is a managed WordPress host. You do not get a cPanel account; you get a dashboard that creates WordPress sites, runs them on Google Cloud infrastructure, and puts Cloudflare in front of them. Plans are sold per site with limits on visits, storage, and PHP workers.
- Managed core updates, daily backups, and a staging environment per site.
- APM and analytics tooling for PHP workers, cache hits, and slow queries.
- A global edge network through Cloudflare, with CDN included rather than sold as an extra.
- No root access and no general-purpose hosting: it runs WordPress well and little else.
- Prices are published in US dollars, monthly or annual, tied to visit counts.
That bundle is worth the money for an agency with international clients. For a Jaipur business whose customers are in one state, the visit-based meter and the USD invoice are the two things that usually decide against it.
Kinsta against a WebJi WordPress plan
The table below compares what each side actually delivers, not marketing claims. Where a row says no, it means the feature is outside that product, not that it is missing by accident.
| Kinsta | WebJi WordPress hosting | |
|---|---|---|
| Product type | Managed WordPress on Google Cloud | Shared WordPress hosting on Linux with cPanel |
| Control panel | Kinsta dashboard, no cPanel | cPanel for files, email, databases |
| Billing currency | USD, per site, by visit tier | INR, per plan, before 18% GST |
| GST invoice | Not an Indian GST invoice | GST invoice with our GSTIN on every purchase |
| Support | English, chat and ticket | Email in Hindi and English, average first reply under 60 minutes |
| Root access | No | No on shared; yes on a VPS |
| Email hosting | Not included | Included in cPanel |
That last row matters more than it looks. A Kinsta customer usually pays a separate provider for business email, while a cPanel plan includes mailboxes with the hosting. Add the two invoices before you compare headline prices.
The other names you will see ranked
Most "Kinsta alternatives" lists are written by hosting companies, and the publisher usually ranks itself first. Read them as product pages, not as reviews.
- WP Engine: managed WordPress with its own platform, staging, and a strong agency programme. Also USD billing.
- Cloudways: you pick the underlying cloud and pay for the server, with a management layer on top. More control, more decisions.
- Rocket.net: managed WordPress with Cloudflare Enterprise in front, positioned on speed.
- Pressable: WordPress and WooCommerce hosting on Automattic's cloud infrastructure.
- Hostinger and similar: low entry prices in INR, shared infrastructure, and a panel rather than a managed dashboard.
None of these is WebJi, and we do not resell them. If a list recommends one host above all others, check who published the list before you treat the ranking as independent.
What to compare before you switch
Switching hosts to save money and then discovering a limit is the expensive version of this decision. Ask five questions and write the answers down.
- Monthly visits included, and what happens at the limit: throttling, overage billing, or a forced upgrade.
- PHP workers or concurrent processes, which decide whether WooCommerce checkout holds under load.
- Storage and inode limits, which matter for plugin-heavy sites and large media libraries.
- Backup retention and restore speed, not just whether backups exist.
- Whether email, staging, and a CDN are included or billed separately.
A plan that costs less on the invoice but adds a CDN, an email provider, and a staging tool is not cheaper. Total the stack, in one currency, before you compare.
Moving a WordPress site off Kinsta
The move itself is routine. What breaks is DNS timing and serialised data, so do those two things deliberately.
- Take a full backup from the Kinsta dashboard, and keep the archive until the new site has run for a week.
- Lower the TTL on the domain's A record a day before the switch, so propagation takes minutes rather than hours.
- On the new host, create the database and user, upload the files, and import the database.
- Replace the old URL with the new one in the database using a serialisation-aware tool, not a text editor.
- Test with a hosts-file override before you change DNS, then switch the A record and watch for 24 hours.
- Leave the old site running but read-only until the new one has taken a full day of traffic.
If a plugin licence is tied to the old domain, re-register it after the DNS change, or the plugin will quietly drop to its free tier. That surprise usually appears a week later, not on migration day.
Where WebJi fits, and where it does not
We are a hosting company in Jaipur, in business since 2005, serving 12,000+ clients, about 99% of them online across India and overseas. Our WordPress plans are shared Linux hosting with cPanel, not a managed cloud platform, and we say so plainly.
| WebJi option | Price (before 18% GST) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress Unlimited | ₹400 per month, ₹3,000 for one year | One business site, cPanel, email included |
| WordPress Unlimited+ | ₹500 per month, ₹4,200 for one year | More resources on the same managed WordPress stack |
| WP Periodic Updates & Security (done for you) | ₹5,900 per year | Core and plugin updates plus hardening, handled by us |
What we do not offer is per-site container isolation, a visit-based global edge, or an APM dashboard. If those are requirements, stay with a managed platform. If what you need is a fast Indian-hosted WordPress site with a rupee invoice, email support in your language, and a predictable bill, this is the fit.
Migrating to WebJi
Migration is handled by our team rather than a self-service tool. The one-time service costs ₹700 and covers the files plus up to five MySQL databases up to 5 GB. Free migration is also available subject to terms and approval, decided after we see the site.
Email support@webji.services with the current host, the site size, and whether email is moving too. You will get a written scope before anything changes, and support is 24/7 by email in Hindi and English with an average first reply under 60 minutes. Plan details are on the WordPress hosting page, and the update service is on managed WordPress.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Kinsta alternative in India?
It depends on what you are buying. For a managed cloud platform, WP Engine, Cloudways, and Rocket.net are the usual comparisons, all billed in USD. For an Indian business that needs GST invoices and Hindi support at a fixed rupee price, a WebJi WordPress plan at 400 INR per month before GST is the practical alternative.
Is WebJi the same as Kinsta?
No. WebJi is an Indian shared hosting company in Jaipur, in business since 2005. Kinsta is a managed WordPress platform on Google Cloud. We do not resell Kinsta, and we do not offer per-site container isolation or its APM tooling.
Why do Kinsta alternative lists all recommend different hosts?
Because most of them are published by hosting companies. WP Engine, Elementor, Cloudways, and others each publish a list that ranks their own product first. Treat those pages as product marketing and compare the specification tables instead.
Does WebJi provide GST invoices?
Yes. Every purchase and renewal gets a GST invoice with our GSTIN, and hosting prices are quoted before 18% GST so you can see the tax line separately. That is the main practical difference from a USD-billed managed host.
Can I move a WordPress site from Kinsta to WebJi?
Yes. The one-time migration service costs 700 INR and covers files plus up to five MySQL databases up to 5 GB, and free migration is available subject to terms and approval. You keep the same domain; only DNS and the hosting account change.
What does Kinsta include that shared WordPress hosting does not?
Per-site isolation, a visit-based global edge network, staging per site, and application monitoring for PHP workers and slow queries. Shared hosting gives you a cPanel account, email, and a fixed price instead, with fewer moving parts to manage.
