Google Ads vs SEO

Quick answer: Google Ads rents a place on the results page. You pay when someone clicks, and new clicks stop when the budget stops. SEO earns an unpaid listing that can keep sending people after that month ends. Use Ads for leads this week. Use SEO when the same query should still work next year.

How Google Ads and SEO differ

Google Ads is a paid listing. You bid for a query, the ad can show beside the results, and Google charges you when someone clicks. SEO is the set of changes to a page, its links, and the business profile that can earn an unpaid listing for that same query.

They are not two prices for one product. An ad can be rewritten the same day for a city, a festival, or a discount. SEO changes what the page says and who links to it, and those changes show up later.

SEO is not a retired channel. It is still how an unpaid listing is earned. An ad does not stand in for that listing, including on a site that is new.

  • Google Ads rents the slot and charges per click.
  • SEO tries to earn an unpaid listing, with no fee to Google for that click.
  • Stopping Ads stops new paid clicks. Stopping SEO stops the work; a useful page can still rank.

What you payA budget you set. Google charges when someone clicks.A monthly retainer. See the Local SEO rows below.
When visits startOften the day the ad is approved.Often months before unpaid visits are steady.
When you stop payingNew paid clicks stop. The work stops. A useful page can keep its unpaid listing.
What you steerKeyword, place, offer, and daily cap.The page, the links, and the business profile.
What it will not doIt will not buy a higher unpaid rank.It will not promise a position or a same-day lead.

A beginner can fix a title and write one clear page. A query that many established sites already answer usually needs ongoing work, not a single afternoon.

Do Google Ads change an SEO ranking?

No. Paying for the click does not move the unpaid result for that query. The ad and the organic listing are separate rows. A page can sit under an ad for months and never rise, and a page can rank while no ad is running.

Use the ad to see which wording people click and which visits become enquiries. Then put that wording on the page you want to rank. The test is useful. It is not a substitute for the page.

What Google Ads and SEO cost

Google Ads is not a WebJi® product. You choose a daily budget in the Ads account and pay Google when a person clicks. This page does not quote a cost per click. The auction changes by query and by city, and a fixed dollar amount is not a rule that makes a campaign enough.

SEO here is a monthly retainer, not a fee per click. Live Local SEO plans are ₹26,000, ₹39,000, and ₹52,500 a month before 18% GST. Those figures were read from WebJi® billing data on 30 October 2026. A job that is not one of these three plans is quoted by email at support@webji.services before you pay.

PlanMonthly fee before 18% GST
Basic Local SEO₹26,000
Business Local SEO₹39,000
Business+ Local SEO₹52,500

GST at 18% is added on the invoice. Do not line these retainers up against a click price and call one cheaper. One buys the clicks for the current month. The other buys the work that can keep an unpaid listing.

How long Google Ads and SEO take

A new campaign can send clicks on the day Google approves the ad. Those clicks continue only while the budget and the ads stay on. Pause either one and the paid visits pause with it.

SEO on a new or thin page usually takes months before unpaid visits are steady. Competitive queries take longer than a query only a few sites answer. You can see it working when Search Console shows impressions and clicks for the query, not when a rank tool prints one position for one morning.

Which visitors Google Ads and SEO send

Ads reach people who typed the keyword you bought, in the place and on the day you chose. That fits an emergency job, a product launch, or an offer that expires.

SEO reaches people whose query the page actually answers. You cannot pin that listing to one hour the way an ad can. The visit is often from someone comparing options, which is why the unpaid listing is worth keeping even while ads are running.

When to choose Google Ads or SEO

Choose Google Ads when you need enquiries before a page can rank. That includes a launch, a festival week, a first month in a new market, or a service people book the same day.

Choose SEO when you will still sell the offer next year and you want each later visit to cost less than buying the click again. A clinic, a shop, or a service that depends on trust usually needs the page, not a single week of ads.

  • Dated push or a launch: fund Ads first.
  • Offer you sell every month: fund SEO, and use Ads only while the page is still weak.
  • Query the page cannot win yet: buy the clicks, and build a narrower page you can rank.

How to run Google Ads and SEO together

Run Ads on queries that already turn into paid work. Build SEO pages for the searches those ads prove people type. Once the unpaid page is the one getting the enquiry, stop buying that same click every day.

WebJi® does the SEO side of that split. We are not Google, and we do not sell Ads clicks. Scope the retainer on SEO services in India. Before a long contract, read how to choose an SEO company.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Google Ads better than SEO?

Neither channel is better for every business. Ads are the better buy when you need clicks this week and can pay for each one. SEO is the better buy when you want unpaid visits that can continue after a month of work ends. Many sites run Ads while a page is still climbing, then keep the page.

Do Google Ads improve organic rankings?

No. The ad is a separate listing. Turning it on does not push the unpaid result higher, and turning it off does not push that result down. The unpaid place still depends on the page, the links to it, and how well it matches the query.

How much does SEO cost next to Google Ads?

Google Ads costs whatever daily budget you set, paid to Google per click. WebJi® does not sell that budget. Local SEO plans are ₹26,000, ₹39,000, or ₹52,500 a month before 18% GST. Any other SEO job is quoted by email at support@webji.services before you pay.

How long do Google Ads and SEO take?

Ads can send the first clicks on the day the campaign is approved. SEO on a new page usually takes months before unpaid visits are steady, and longer when many strong sites already answer the query. Judge SEO by clicks for that query in Search Console, not by one rank screenshot.

Should a business run Google Ads and SEO together?

Run both when the ads pay for themselves and someone is also improving the page. Use the search terms that convert in Ads as the list of pages to write. If the budget covers only one job, pick Ads for a dated push and SEO when the offer is permanent.

Do Google Ads clicks stop when the budget stops?

New paid clicks stop when the budget or the campaign stops. The unpaid listing does not stop with them. Ads are rented by the click. SEO is a page you can keep only while it stays useful.
