Free Domain with Hosting

Quick answer: A free domain with hosting is the first registration year, not a free name for life. You still pay for the hosting plan. Year two renews at the normal rate, and the name should be registered to you. WebJi bills the domain and the hosting plan separately, before 18% GST.

Festive Diwali scene with marigold garlands, gift boxes, diyas and a laptop with a shopping cart — free domain with hosting

How a free domain with hosting offer works

A free domain with hosting is one of three different offers. A free host gives you a subdomain, or it lets you attach a name you already paid to register. A promo waives the first year of a custom name when an annual hosting plan is in the cart. A normal registration has no waiver at all.

A free host in the same results, read on 30 October 2026, offers the account at no charge, with a subdomain or a slot for a domain registered somewhere else. It does not sell you that domain. WebJi is not that host.

The host pays the registry for that first year, then recovers the cost inside the hosting bill. Free does not mean the registry stopped charging. Year one of the name is zero. The hosting plan, and every later year of the name, are still billed.

  • Subdomain. You can launch today. The parent name stays with the host.
  • Bring your own domain. The host does not pay your registration invoice.
  • First-year waiver. It needs the annual plan the offer names. The renewal is the normal rate.

Before you pay, read the extension list, the renewal price, the registrant name, and whether you can transfer out. Those four lines are the offer.

Which TLDs a free domain with hosting includes

The free list is the offer. It is not every extension the registry sells. Some promos waive .com for year one. Others waive .in, or only a cheap extension such as .xyz. A host that does not sell domains waives nothing, because there is no registration on the invoice.

TLDRegistrationRenewalWhat the free offer usually does
.com₹900–1,200 / yr₹1,000–1,400 / yrSometimes waived in year one with an annual plan. Renewal is the real bill.
.in₹500–800 / yr₹700–1,000 / yrOften the extension a host waives first.
.co.in₹500–900 / yr₹800–1,100 / yrLess often on a free list.
.xyz / .online₹150–500 first year₹800–1,400 / yrThe jump from year one to renewal is the catch.

The rupee bands are indicative market rates on domain registration in India, read on 30 October 2026, before 18% GST. Checkout confirms the exact amount. A free .in with a ₹700–1,000 renewal is easier to budget than a free .xyz that renews at ₹800–1,400.

What a free domain costs after year one

Count three years, not the first invoice. A waived .in still renews at ₹700–1,000 a year before GST. Two renewal years are ₹1,400–2,000, often more than the year you did not pay.

A waived .xyz or .online is the sharp version of the same pattern. Year one is ₹0 on the promo, or ₹150–500 if you just register it. The renewal band is ₹800–1,400 a year. Two renewals are the expensive part.

GoDaddy's India page, read on 30 October 2026, waives a domain for one year with an annual hosting, WordPress, or website-builder plan, then renews at the standard rate. It also lists an ICANN fee of ₹19 per domain name. WebJi is not GoDaddy, and that fee is not on a WebJi invoice.

Who owns a free domain that came with hosting

You own the name only when the registrant is you. Read the registrant, the registrar, and the expiry on a whois domain lookup. If the host is the registrant, the name is not yours to keep when the plan ends.

A free subdomain is not a domain you own. The parent name belongs to the host. There is no auth code, because there is no registration in your account to transfer.

What happens to a free domain if you cancel hosting

Cancelling hosting takes the website offline. It does not, by itself, delete a domain that sits in your own registrar account. That name stays registered until the expiry date you paid for.

Some waivers exist only while the hosting plan stays active. Cancel the plan, and the host may bill the domain or let it lapse. Read that clause before you cancel, and do not close the old account until the name shows under your control.

A new registration is usually locked for 60 days. After the lock, move it with a domain transfer if you are the registrant. Moving the name is not a site migration. A site copy at WebJi still needs approval and is subject to terms.

Free domain with hosting versus buying the name

Registering the name yourself means year one is the band, not zero. On 30 October 2026, before 18% GST, .in is ₹500–800 to register and .com is ₹900–1,200. Hosting is a second bill, not a condition of the name.

WebJi Linux shared hosting is ₹300 a month, or ₹3,000 for one year, before 18% GST. That figure is the live L-Basic price, read on 30 October 2026. Add the domain band. There is no waived year that resets the renewal.

You can register a name and host nothing yet. The name can hold email, or a site later. That is the opposite of a free-domain bundle, which makes the name depend on the plan. The domain and hosting cost guide adds the two bills.

What WebJi charges instead of a free domain

WebJi does not include a free domain with hosting. Register the name on the domain page linked above, and order hosting as its own plan. Both amounts are confirmed before payment, and 18% GST is added on the invoice.

Email support@webji.services is staffed 24/7 in Hindi and English, and the average first reply is under 60 minutes. Do not use the office phone for support. A later site move is free only when it is approved, and it is subject to terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a free domain with hosting really free?

The domain is usually free for the first year, and the hosting plan is not. Year two bills the renewal at the normal rate. A subdomain on a free host can stay unpaid, and that name is not a domain you own.

Is it possible to host a domain for free?

Yes, if you mean a subdomain, or a host that lets you attach a name you already own. A custom .com or .in registered to you is a paid registration, or a one-year waiver tied to a paid plan.

Which extensions come free with a hosting plan?

Only the extensions named in that offer. The list may include .com, .in, or a newer name such as .xyz. If the extension is not on the list, it is not free. None of the WebJi bands in the table are waived.

Do I own a domain that came free with hosting?

You own it when the registrant on the record is you. If the host is the registrant, or the address is only a subdomain of the host's name, you do not own a domain.

What happens to the domain if I cancel hosting?

The site goes offline. A domain in your own registrar account stays registered until it expires. If the waiver required an active hosting plan, cancelling can end that waiver, so read the clause first.

Is the free domain only for the first year?

On a registrar promo, yes. After that year the name renews at the standard rate. A free host's subdomain is a different product and can remain free without giving you a .com or a .in.

Can I transfer a domain that came free with hosting?

After the usual 60-day lock on a new registration, yes, if you are the registrant. Get the auth code from the registrar account and start the transfer. Do not cancel the current host until the name has moved.

Can I get a domain name for one rupee?

Treat a one-rupee headline as a first-year promotion, not the price you will renew at. WebJi does not sell domains at a token rupee rate. Use the registration and renewal bands in the table, read on 30 October 2026.

Does WebJi include a free domain with hosting?

No. Domain registration and hosting are separate bills. The bands in the table are before 18% GST, and the exact amount is confirmed before you pay.
