Those WebJi® figures were read on 30 October 2026 and are before 18% GST. They are plan prices with the panel included. They are not the panel vendor's own licence. A server you administer yourself is quoted by email before you pay.

Do not run both panels for the same team without a reason. The menus do not match, so speed in one panel does not carry over.

Linux and Windows support in cPanel vs Plesk

cPanel installs on Linux only. Current builds target AlmaLinux, CloudLinux, Rocky Linux, and Ubuntu. It does not run on Windows Server, so it cannot be the panel for IIS or MS SQL.

Plesk installs on Linux and on Windows Server. A .NET shop can keep one panel for a Windows site and a Linux site. The licence is sold for the operating system you run. One purchase does not cover both.

At WebJi®, Windows hosting uses Plesk with IIS and MS SQL, from ₹2,300 a year before 18% GST. Linux shared accounts stay on cPanel and do not use that Microsoft stack.

How the cPanel interface differs from Plesk

cPanel splits the product in two. The account holder uses cPanel for files, databases, mail, and domains, shown as icon groups. The server owner uses WHM to create those accounts, set packages, and move them.

Plesk uses one login. Each site sits in a subscription, and the tools for that site are in a left-hand list. Beginners often find that list faster than a wall of icons.

People who already know cPanel stay faster in cPanel, because that icon layout has barely moved in years. Both panels have a phone layout. Neither one is the client area where invoices and tickets live.

WordPress tools in the cPanel and Plesk ecosystems

Plesk's WordPress Toolkit is part of the product. From the panel you install, update, stage, clone, and harden several WordPress sites. cPanel does those jobs when the licence includes WP Toolkit. Many hosts add Softaculous instead.

The wider set of tools is why Linux hosts stay on cPanel. WHM is the account model, and add-ons such as JetBackup, Imunify, and LiteSpeed are built for it. Plesk's catalog adds Git, Docker, and a long extension list, which suits an agency more than one brochure site.

WebJi® reseller hosting is the WHM side of cPanel: you create accounts and point them at white-label nameservers. A Plesk WordPress fleet is a separate Linux Plesk plan, not a switch inside cPanel.

Email and domains in cPanel vs Plesk

Both panels create mailboxes, forwarders, and DNS records, and both can issue a free certificate. cPanel's zone editor is a direct record list. That is what a migration or a custom SPF or DKIM edit usually wants. Roundcube is the usual webmail.

Plesk walks the same jobs through wizards and DNS templates. That is easier to hand to someone who should not free-type a zone. One subscription per client fits an agency. Addon and parked domains fit the older shared-hosting habit on cPanel.

On either panel, the mailbox login is not the WebJi® client-area login. Invoices and tickets stay in the client area.

How cPanel and Plesk licences are priced

Since 2019, cPanel has sold licences by account tier instead of one flat price for unlimited accounts. A server with many accounts costs more than a server with one. Plesk sells Web Admin, Web Pro, and Web Host editions, each with a domain cap.

Plesk Onyx vs cPanel is an old comparison. Onyx was the Plesk line before Obsidian. This page compares current cPanel with Plesk Obsidian, which is what a new licence installs.

On WebJi® shared plans the panel is included. cPanel hosting starts at ₹300 a month for L-Basic. Plesk hosting on Linux starts at ₹360 a month for the 2 GB plan. Both figures are before 18% GST and were read on 30 October 2026.

A licence for a server you administer yourself is not those shared-plan prices. Email support@webji.services and the quote comes back before you pay.

Which WebJi® plan uses cPanel or Plesk

Linux shared plans use cPanel. Linux Plesk plans use Plesk and include that licence. Windows shared hosting uses Plesk, because cPanel cannot run IIS or MS SQL.

  • Linux shared hosting and WHM resellers: cPanel.
  • Windows Server, IIS, ASP.NET, or MS SQL: Plesk.
  • Many WordPress sites under one login: Plesk's WordPress Toolkit.
  • One PHP site, and you already know the icons: stay on cPanel.

Choose by the site. PHP on Linux points to cPanel. ASP.NET or MS SQL points to Plesk on Windows. A team that wants one screen for both operating systems picks Plesk and gives up cPanel muscle memory.

Moving an account across panels is a migration, not a button. WebJi® can move a site when the terms are approved. It is not instant, and an unmanaged server does not include a panel unless the quote says so.

Mail, DNS, the certificate, and the PHP version have to match before nameservers change. Ask for that check in the same email as the move.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better, cPanel or Plesk?

Neither wins every job. cPanel fits Linux shared hosting and resellers who live in WHM. Plesk fits Windows, MS SQL, and a team running many WordPress sites. WebJi® sells them as different plans, not as a swap inside one account.

Is cPanel easier than Plesk for a first site?

Plesk is easier if you have never opened a panel, because each site is one subscription with its tools in a list. cPanel is easier if you already know the icon groups. On a shared plan you do not need WHM.

Does Plesk run on Windows when cPanel does not?

Yes. cPanel is Linux only. Plesk runs on Linux and on Windows Server with IIS. WebJi® Windows plans use Plesk and start at ₹2,300 a year before 18% GST.

Which panel manages WordPress sites better?

Plesk's WordPress Toolkit is built in for updates, staging, and hardening across many sites. cPanel uses Softaculous, or WP Toolkit when the licence includes it. On WebJi® those are different plans, not a toggle.

What does Plesk Onyx vs cPanel refer to?

Plesk Onyx is the release before Plesk Obsidian. A new licence installs Obsidian. Compare that with current cPanel, not with an Onyx screenshot from an old tutorial.

Can I switch a server from cPanel to Plesk?

Yes, as a planned migration. Copy files, databases, and mail, then test the certificate and DNS before nameservers change. WebJi® moves a site only when the terms are approved. It is not instant. Email support@webji.services before you pay.

Is cPanel free to use?

No. cPanel is a paid licence, and WebJi® has no free cPanel plan. The lowest Linux shared price with cPanel included is ₹300 a month before 18% GST.
